Adduction Contracture and Leg Length Discrepancy

Pre Operative RadiographPre Operative Radiograph

Advanced osteoarthritis of the left hip with adduction contracture producing pelvic obliquity leg length discrepancy (left leg shorter than right).

Post Operative RadiographPost Operative Radiograph

Postoperative X-ray of the same patient. With surgery correction of the adduction contracture has allowed correction of the pelvic obliquity and therefore of the leg length discrepancy. With the patient lying in bed for this post-operative X-ray there is some residual tilt which will correct with time and physiotherapy.
